Ed Brisson returns to the podcast this week in Episode #596, and we discuss his upcoming Marvel’s Alpha Flight mini-series as well as his current DC title Batman Incorporated!

Ed is a comic book writer who first started to garner attention with his self-published crime series MURDER BOOK. He broke into the public spotlight in 2012 with the crime/time-travel thriller series COMEBACK (Shadowline/Image Comics). Since then, he’s written and co-created four other series published by Image: SHELTERED, THE FIELD, THE MANTLE, and THE VIOLENT. MURDER BOOK was collected and released by Dark Horse in early 2015. Ed has also written for DC, Marvel, BOOM, IDW, Aftershock, and many others. James Aquilone, accomplished horror writer/editor, returns to the Wayne’s Comics Podcast in Episode #594!

Wayne has a great conversation this week with James, a favorite here at the podcast! He’s crowdfunding his latest project on Kickstarter for the Dead Detectives Society & Monstrous Magazine! Episode #588 is another great doubleheader, featuring interviews with William Simpson and Louis Southard!

William Simpson is an internationally renowned artist known for his work on Judge Dredd, Batman, Transformers, Vamps, and Indiana Jones. He has recently released VMT from Renegade Arts Entertainment, which is described this way: “A tale of blood, monsters, and those that walk amongst them seeking to help us all.” We discuss his career in the comics industry, what “VMT” actually stands for, and what else he’s working on that is not to be missed!

Then everything wraps up with my interview with the return of Louis Southard, who is bringing fans a prequel to his Midnight Western Theatre series subtitled, Witch Trial. It’s described this way: “Before the Woman in Black, there was only Ortensia Thomas: a young girl in a wild west filled with threats both supernatural and all too human. With a new cast of characters and her black-clad destiny looming over her, witness Ortensia like you’ve never seen her before!” Louis updates us on all he’s working on and that you need to let your local comics shop know you want this new series before the Final Order Cutoff date of Thursday, May 18!
